The plans for Phase II: a large transitional housing facility constructed of shipping containers for Survivors of domestic violence, thanks to generous donations of a long-term lease of 10 acres of land and numerous shipping containers. A team of professionals has been hard at work to develop plans for this facility, where Survivors of abuse will have privacy, safety, and independence. Cutting edge programs and services, coupled with ample time to heal, will prepare our clients to successfully rebuild their lives and become healthy and happy members of society.
Phase II of THRIVE SC is a pilot project based on several proven prototypes, which can be replicated throughout SC and the nation. THRIVE’S goal is to provide multiple levels of shelter and onsite medical care for victims of DV, including family pets, who are usually the first to be abused. Unlike traditional DV shelters, THRIVE SC will offer independent, non-communal living by replacing the traditional, shared living space setting with modern, individual efficiencies constructed of recycled, solar-powered, eco-friendly shipping containers.
